Its the age of the Staggering Genius of I and My. I'm sure back in the Dark Ages when I was young, (yes - there was such a time, Virginia) parents may have bitched about how self absorbed the new generation was. If that was a chant, I sure didn't hear it. The mantra I heard was 'do something'. And I don't think they had in mind by selecting a template to house the temple of my intellect. I congratulate those graphic designers who have found their niche creating visually appealing landscapes. I enjoy those same labors. But, what of everyone who wants to opt-out on the tough work of creativity?
Technology is certainly wonderful, but if you can't deconstruct ideas and think critically (i.e. outside the box) - what good is it? Technology is just a shortcut, an enabler - if you don't ask some good questions and then reflect upon them what have you done? Wait, Wait I think I know that answer.
